Terms of Use

Effective date: 27 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Vocabild iOS app (“Vocabild”, “the app”), operated by Yahan Bermudez, Duran i Borrell 19, 08023 Barcelona, Spain. Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

Who the app is for

Vocabild is for learning German vocabulary. It is not directed at children under 16. Do not use the app if you are under 16.

Your account

The current version creates an anonymous account on our servers so we can enforce generation limits and receive quality reports. We do not require your name or email for that. One account is for one person. Do not share access in a way that abuses quotas or harms the service.

The service today

Vocabild provides mnemonic cards for German words, including curated and generated keywords, scenes and images, plus local study on your device. Searching words, reading mnemonics and browsing starter sets are free. Saving words to your vocabulary is limited on a free account; Pro removes that limit and raises daily generation and regeneration allowances. Custom mnemonics you write are stored on your device; illustrations for them are generated through our servers.

Features may change as the app develops. We may add, remove or alter parts of the service, including limits, without promising any particular roadmap.

Purchases and subscriptions

Vocabild offers an optional auto-renewing subscription called Pro, sold through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple ID.

Price and billing period: Pro is $5.99 per month (or the equivalent in your App Store territory, including applicable taxes as shown by Apple before you purchase). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.

What Pro includes: unlimited saved vocabulary words (instead of the free account’s lifetime save limit), a higher daily allowance for generating new mnemonics, and a higher daily regeneration allowance. Searching, reading mnemonics and browsing starter sets remain available without Pro.

Auto-renewal: The subscription renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

How to cancel: Manage or cancel on your iPhone under Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Vocabild cannot cancel or refund a subscription for you; billing is handled by Apple. For refunds, use Apple’s Report a Problem process.

We never see your payment card details. Apple bills the subscription; subscription status is managed via RevenueCat so we can unlock Pro on your anonymous account. Neither Apple nor RevenueCat gives us your payment card details. An annual plan may be offered in a later release; it is not billed yet.

Refunds and withdrawal

Purchases made through Apple are refunded under Apple’s policies, not ours. As a consumer in the EU you have statutory rights for digital content and services; nothing in these terms removes the protections that apply where you live. If you buy a digital service and start using it immediately, Apple may ask you to acknowledge that your right of withdrawal ends once the service has begun to be performed, where the law allows that.

Content in the app

The mnemonics, images, scenes, dictionary material and curated word sets in Vocabild are ours or our licensors’. You may use them for your own personal learning. You may not scrape, bulk-copy, redistribute or resell them, and you may not use automated means to harvest the shared card set.

Cards and scenes you write yourself remain yours. You are responsible for what you write. Do not submit custom text that is unlawful, abusive, explicit beyond what the app allows, or that you do not have the right to use. Custom scenes are moderated by an automated service before illustration; text that fails moderation is rejected and no image is produced. You can report a card from within the app; reported cards may be hidden or removed.

If you submit a correction or contribution intended for the shared set, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, adapt and distribute that contribution in the app for all users.

What the app does not promise

Vocabild is a learning aid. Mnemonics, example sentences and images are generated automatically and may contain errors. They are memory devices, not a substitute for a dictionary or a teacher, and not a guarantee of fluency, exam results or correct German in every case. Check anything that matters against a dictionary or a teacher.

The app is provided as available, without warranty beyond what Spanish and EU consumer law requires. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, unlimited generation or that every word will have a perfect mnemonic.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break, overload, probe or reverse engineer the service except where the law expressly allows;
• bypass generation limits, quotas or security controls;
• use the app to generate or distribute unlawful content;
• interfere with other users’ use of the shared mnemonic pool.

Ending use

You can stop using Vocabild at any time by deleting the app. That removes local vocabulary, study progress and custom cards from that device.

To delete your account data in the app, open Settings → Privacy → Delete my data. That removes server-side records tied to your anonymous account and clears local vocabulary and custom cards on the device. Shared mnemonic cards remain in the pool. It does not cancel a Pro subscription; manage billing under Settings → your name → Subscriptions. You can also email privacy@vocabild.com. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or restrict access that breaks these terms or harms the service, and will explain why where we are permitted to.

Governing law

Spanish law applies. Nothing here removes the consumer protections you have where you live.

Apple as third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple, and Apple’s subsidiaries, are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms of Use, and that upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
